Yesterday was the last Exec meeting until the fall. Next month there are two SAW events. The first, renamed to SAW Awards Night, includes the Wolff Award given to the juror's choice, and also the Erika Poersch and David Dunk Awards. Shortly after this event, the Riding Club's event, Celebration by the Lake, takes place over three days in June. SAW artists have been invited to showcase their work, do demos, etc throughout the weekend. A big task to set up but requires less effort than our annual show in November. On Location starts up soon and runs through to the fall, with several SAW members gathering to paint at various locations in the area. Hobbyfest and the one day Children's Waterfront Program complete this season's commitment. Time to rest?
Perhaps I will get into the abstract course being held in June at St Lawrence College, perhaps into the weekend course at Westport. For certain I am in Andrea's class at St.Lawrence College and in early July I will be exploring oil painting and Renaissance painters' techniques and travelling to the National Gallery to view the works on display there this summer. A big stretch that excites me.
If time allows, the books you see are my summer reading. Countless exercises and skill development along with playful creations, to "grow" this summer............we shall see.
